Here are a few signs and indicators that your heating system requires repair from a certified HVAC professional:
When your furnace is blowing cold air instead of heating, your furnace’s condensate line may be blocked.
As a furnace operates, it creates water. The condensate line, usually a PVC pipe, allows that water to drain out of the heating system.
When the condensate line becomes blocked, it triggers an overflow kill switch that stops the furnace from operating and to prevent water damage. The pipe is usually clogged by:
If the issue doesn’t stem from a blockage in the condensate line, that’s a signal that the condenstate pump is broken. If this is the case, you’ll need to rely on an HVAC professional to resolve this problem.
If your furnace won’t turn on at all, there could be an issue with your pilot light.
If you have an older system and the pilot light is out, you should be able to relight the flame on your own. If you continue to experience issues with the flame that refuses to burn, you should call one of our HVAC professionals for help.
This can even be an issue in newer systems. If you have a newer heating system and the pilot light won’t stay on, despite how many times you relight with the ignition, you can trust an HVAC expert to diagnose and repair the issue for you.
